Zoe-perry
Perry was born to Laurie Metcalf (actor) and Jeff Perry (actor). The character Jackie Harris was played by her mother in each of her two appearances on Roseanne. Perry did not decide to consider a career in acting until after she had reached the age of adulthood due to her parents being concerned about the adverse consequences stress can cause. Perry claims she never wanted to perform in high school, but she decided to begin playing as a way to make friends at Northwestern University when she switched to it from Boston University. Following her graduation, Perry moved in New York to search for TV work, landing a few roles on series such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent however, her homesickness led her back to California which is where she discovered theater jobs. She performed on Broadway as a part of The Other Place with her mother in the year 2013. Perry was in the show with the father of her character Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in 2015 in The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. In the year 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes of ABC's thriller The Family. In 2017 she had her own recurring part on the ABC political thriller Scandal with her father. The actress was also featured on the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon as a version younger of Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mother. Despite the fact that she has a connection with her family to the character, she was offered the role through an audition.
